No Pupil Should Lose Out

Ofqual’s decision, to adopt a modified form of its proposal for grading GCSE and A-levels this Summer, has been met with consternation and in some cases despair.  Their decision to put increased weighting on historical data is not the best (or least worst) option available.  It’s more about statistical modelling than a humane approach to a complex and difficult situation.

For Parents’ and Pupils’ Sake #PauseOfsted

Imagine you’re from a family that eternally struggles to make ends meet.  It’s been the same for generations; your family is trapped in deep, long term poverty.  You’ve just received another Ofsted report from the school – the one you attended and your children attend – it requires improvement or has been dismissed yet again as inadequate.

Time to #PauseOfsted? #HTRT2020
